New Market District VFC to Purchase Rescue Squad

The New Market District VFC has been approved to proceed with the purchase of a used 2001 Peterbilt/Saulsbury rescue squad unit from the Hollywood VFD of St. Mary's County, MD. The unit was selected by the apparatus committee to be the replacement for the department's current rescue engine. It will be known as Rescue Squad 15. Vehicle Collision with Flyout in Monrovia

On Saturday May 14th at 2333 hours units from New Market and Green Valley were alerted for a vehicle accident on Route 75 at the railroad bridge in Monrovia. RE153(AFC Kennedy) responded on the call with 4 volunteers. Units arrived to find multiple vehicles involved with two injured. A medic unit, aviation, and an additional BLS unit were requested. Volunteers Attend County-Wide Swift Water Drill

The New Market Volunteers attended a county wide swift water rescue drill today in Thurmont. The drill took place in Cunningham Falls State Park and was a joint exercise between Frederick County Fire Rescue, the Maryland Park Service, and the American Red Cross. On Sunday May 1st at 1157 hours Box 17-26 was alerted for smoke coming from the house in the 7500 block of Woodville Road near Unionville. On Monday April 11th at 1454 hours Rescue Box 15-1 was sounded for the roof collapse with subjects injured on Nicholas Hall Street at Richard Roberts Street in the Royal Oaks subdivision. New Market Volunteers Participate in Four County House Burn

The New Market Volunteers were recently invited to take part in a live burn exercise being hosted by the Mount Airy Volunteer Fire Company. The burn was held on Saturday April 2nd.
