New Market Volunteers to hold $10K Mega Bingo

The New Market Volunteers are set to hold a $10,000.00 Mega Cash Bingo on Friday December 9th, 2016, doors open at 5:00 PM, games start at 6:45 PM. Tickets are $70 in advance and $80 at the door. A Christmas dinner and drinks are included. There will be a $1600 Large Jackpot and $800 Small Jackpot. Special games pay $500, and regular games pay $200. Tip jars and holder will also be available. Ambulance 159 Construction Progress Report 9

This week the work has been focused on our chassis that arrived at GEV on Wednesday November 23rd, the crew at GEV has been busy in the paint booth turning, painting the chassis to match the box of the unit, which will match the remainder of our volunteer owned fleet. New Market Volunteers Respond to House Fire

On Saturday Wednesday November 26th at approximately 1630 hours, units from Mount Airy were alerted for an outside fire in the 14600 block of Peddicord Road. While enroute to the scene, the units reported a large column of smoke, along with additional calls in to ECC reporting explosions. Collision with Entrapment in Mount Airy

On Monday November 21st at 0837 hours, units from Mount Airy and New Market were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment at Samhill Drive and Lomar Drive in Mount Airy. RE153(DFRS Capt. Newman) and D15(Capt. Thews) responded on the assignment with 6 personnel. Units from Mount Airy arrived to find a two vehicle accident with one of the vehicles in a drainage ditch. New Market Assists on Large Woods Fires in Thurmont

On Sunday November 20th at approximately 1400 hours, units from Thurmont were alerted for a brush and woods fire in the 15000 block of Sabillasville Road. As is routine in this part of the county, difficult access and high wind conditions led to a very quickly spreading fire. Rollover with Entrapment in Green Valley

On Tuesday November 15th at 1815 hours, units from Green Valley and New Market were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover in the 4300 block of Ed McClain Road in Green Valley. RE153 (Sgt. Chapman), E152 (Lt. Hanagan), and C15-2 (AFC Betts) responded on the run with 11 volunteers. A259 arrived to find a pick up truck on its side with one patient trapped. Company Drill Held on Persons Pinned Under Autos

On Saturday November 12th the New Market Volunteers held a company level drill on the topic of victims pinned underneath vehicles. Captain Thews led the drill , which focused on a few different scenarios, and some of the multiple ways we have of extricating the victim. The part of the victim was played by a "hose dummy."
