On Thursday October 18th at 2113 hours units were alerted on Box 23-10 for a house fire in the 9300 block of Ball Road. E152 (AFC Bowles) and RS15 (FC Nalborczyk) responded on the box with 10 volunteers. C2-1 (Hahn) and C23 (May) arrived simultaneously to find a 2 story house with fire showing from the second floor and exterior of the home. C23 established the Ball Road command. Pardon Our Dust, Auxiliary Building Progress Update #1

Recently the New Market Volunteers have voted to replace their existing auxiliary apparatus building with a new 54'x60' pole type structure to be located on the Northwest corner of the departments property. New Market Volunteers Awarded FEMA SAFER Grant

On Friday September 21st, Fire Chief Nalborczyk received notification from SAFER (Staffing for Adequate Fire and Emergency Response) Grant management staff that the department had been awarded a $375,000.00 Recruitment and Retention of Volunteer Firefighters Application Award. The New Market District Volunteer Fire Company has recently purchased a 2018 RAM 1500 Truck that was converted into an emergency vehicle by Front Line Emergency Vehicles, Inc of Ontario, Canada. Volunteers Extricate One on I-70

On Sunday August 26th at 1618 hours, units were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on I-70 westbound near Exit 59 (Route 144). A159 (EMS-II Puryear), RS15 (Lt. Williamson), E152 (Capt. Nalborczyk), and C15-1 (DFC Kennedy) responded with 12 volunteers on the run. As part of an Empowering the Decision Maker plan developed by Fire Chief Nalborczyk, several members recently attended a course known as Rescue from Vehicles in Water in McHenry, Maryland.
