D-Shift and Volunteers Respond to House Fire

On Thursday June 7th at 1355 hours, E152 (DFRS Lt. Hayter), RS15 (Capt. Thews), C15-1 (DFC Kennedy), and C15-3 (AFC Bowles) responded to an attached garage fire on Talbot Run Road in Co. 17’s area. Eleven personnel responded from Co. 15. Crews arrived to find smoke coming from the garage and a working fire. A rapid intervention dispatch and tanker task force were requested. A159, E152, and ET254 responded for a child that was struck by a vehicle in the Landsdale neighborhood. A159 (AFC Bowles) responded on the initial call with 2 volunteers. On Monday June 4th at 1720 hours units were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of Green Valley Road and Knolls Parkway. The report was one vehicle rolled over into the woods and one patient trapped. RS15 (DFRS Capt. Schultz), U15 (Capt. On Sunday June 3rd at 1449 hours, units from Mount Airy, New Market, and Green Valley were alerted for a vehicle accident with rollover on Interstate 70 westbound at the 67 mile marker. New Market Swiftwater Crews Deploy to West Virginia Floods

On Sunday June 3rd, crews in the panhandle of West Virginia found themselves facing rising waters due to additional rain and the Potomac River rising above flood stage. This led to numerous rescues and incidents in that region and local resources were quickly drained. Boat 15 and Utility 15 (Sgt. At approximately 1600 hours on Sunday May 27th, heavy rains pounded Howard County, and specifically the Ellicott City area. Water quickly inundated Main Street Ellicott City without warning, trapping numerous people in their homes, businesses, and automobiles. On Monday May 14th at 1900 hours, Box 23-7 was alerted for a house fire in the 8300 block of Sharon Drive in Urbana.
