New Market Assists on Large Debris & Brush Fire

On Monday April 14th as units were returning from the woods fire in Thurmont, Co. 25 was alerted for an investigation in the area of Route 80 and Prices Distillery Road. ECC began receiving multiple reports of a large thick column of black smoke coming from an address on Prices Distillery Road. New Market Assists on Large Woods Fire in Catoctin Mountains

On Monday April 14th at approximately 1130 hours units from Company 10 were dispatched for wires down and on fire on Catoctin Hollow Road just off of Route 15 in Thurmont, MD. Units arrived to find a one acre section of woods burning on a steep hill alongside the roadway. Additional units were requested, including a brush task force. Volunteers and D-Shift Take in a Tractor Trailer Fire in Mount Airy

On Monday March 31st at 1017 hours units from Mount Airy and New Market were alerted simultaneously by Frederick and Carroll County communications for a tractor trailer fire on Interstate 70 West Bound at Route 27. Busy Sunday for New Market Volunteers

Sunday March 23rd was a busy day for the New Market Volunteers. Between 1300 hours on Sunday afternoon and 0530 hours Monday morning the station handled nine calls, including three box alarms and one structure assignment. Here is a recap:

First Due Barn Fire on East Hyatt Road

At 2109 hours on Friday, March 21, 2014 units were alerted on Box 15-10 for the barn fire in the 5100 block of East Hyatt Road. E152(Lt. Conaway), RE153(Capt. Thews), A159(EMT Rosebrock), and C15(Chief Nalborczyk) responded on the call with a total of 14 volunteers. New Market Career and Volunteer Members Acknowledged at the 3rd Annual Frederick County Chamber of Commerce Public Safety Awards

On Tuesday March 11th, 2014 Career and Volunteer Members were recognized for their efforts at the Trench Rescue Incident on September 24th, 2013, each members was recoginzied with a Bronze Medal of Outstanding Performance.
