New Market Volunteers set to host Chicken BBQ Fundraiser

The New Market District Volunteer Fire Company is set to host a BBQ Chicken Fundraiser at their station on Saturday August 11th, 2018 starting at 11AM until 7PM or until sold out. The price for a chicken dinner will be $12 for a platter or $6 for 1/4 pieces. A meal includes 1/4 Chicken BBQ, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans and Soda or Tea. The New Market Volunteers are set to hold a $11,000.00 Vegas Mega Bingo on Friday, August 10, 2018. Doors open at 5:00 PM and games start at 6:45 PM. Tickets are $70 in advance and $80 at the door. Dinner and drinks are included. Special games pay $500 and regular games pay $200. Large Jackpot is $1,600 and Small Jackpot is $800. Tip jars and holder will also be available. A Statement Regarding our Door to Door Fundrasier

We have received several complaints and concerns over the past few days about our on-going door-to-door fundraising campaign. The NMDVFC employs a third-party company to raise funds on our behalf, as we do not have the time to do this sort of manpower intensive fundraising with department members. On Tuesday July 10th at 1455 hours New Market and Mount Airy units were dispatched to Interstate 70 westbound near the 68 mile marker for a vehicle accident with rollover. A159 (DFRS), RS15 (Capt. Pedestrian Struck with Flyout in Green Valley

A159, E152, and ET254 responded for a child that was struck by a vehicle in the Landsdale neighborhood. A159 (AFC Bowles) responded on the initial call with 2 volunteers. On Monday June 4th at 1720 hours units were alerted for a vehicle accident with entrapment in the area of Green Valley Road and Knolls Parkway.
