On Monday March 30th just before 8 pm units were alerted for a vehicle accident on Main Street at Old New Market Road in the Town of New Market. A159 (Lt Sullivan), RE153 (AFC Thews), E152 (Sgt Thews), B156 (Sgt Hanagan), C15-1 (DFC Moe), and D15 (Capt Kennedy) responded on the call with 18 volunteers. Units arrived on scene to find a 2 vehicle t-bone collision. Upon evaluating the scene it was found that one occupant was trapped in an SUV requiring a door removal. C15-1 established the Main Street Command while RE153 went to work stabilizing and then extricating the patient. E152 deployed a charged hoseline for protection. Command requested a 2nd BLS unit to assist. The trapped patient was extricated in 5 minutes. Two patients were transported to area hospitals. Units picked up and cleared minutes later.
