On Wednesday January 3rd at 0752 hours, units from New Market and Mt. Airy were alerted for a vehicle collision with entrapment in the area of Interstate 70 eastbound and Route 75. The location was quickly updated to I-70 east near Adventure Park USA. A159 (DFRS), RS15 (Capt. Hanagan), E152 (DFRS), U15 (Tech Bowman), and C15 (FC Nalborczyk) responded on the assignment with 11 personnel. Co. 15 units arrived to find a two vehicle accident with one vehicle over the guardrail. C15 established the I-70 Command and confirmed two patients trapped. RS15 arrived and was assigned the Rescue Group. Crews worked to extricate the patients, who were then turned over to the EMS units. An additional ALS unit and BLS unit were requested to assist as well.
