March 4, 2018

It was a busy Sunday for the New Market Volunteers, with crews taking in 10 runs in 16 hours. There were multiple calls for structure fires, adaptive assignments, and vehicle collisions. Some of the more significant responses are listed below.

At 0629 hours, E152, A159, and C15 responded for an odor of smoke on Royal Saint Andrews Place. Units investigated an HVAC odor in the home.

At 1501 hours, A159, RE153, E152, and C15 responded for a vehicle collision with rollover and entrapment on West Main Street. One patient refused EMS care.

At 1514 hours, RE153 and C15 responded mutual aide to Carroll County for a brush fire threatening a structure on Bennett Branch Road. Units quickly controlled the fire with minimal extension to the structure.

At 1829 hours, Box 25-1 was struck for a house fire on Tranquility Court in Green Valley. E152, RE153, C15, C15-2, and D15 responded. Crews found a deck fire out on arrival and checked for extension into the home. Crews operated for about 30 minutes and found minimal extension.

At 1914 hours, E152, RE153, C15-2, and C15-3 responded for a chimney fire on Lynn Crest Road in Green Valley. Crews found a working chimney fire and were able to extinguish it with no extension to the home.

Each call was handled without late, failed, or understaffed response, as is usual of the outstanding service provided by our volunteers.
