Email Print RSS Facebook Twitter RSS

By Assistant Fire Chief Matthew Thews
June 30, 2019

Just after 4 pm on Sunday June 30th, Ambulance 159 was alerted for an injured person near Coldstream Beach in Lake Linganore. The call was soon upgraded to a water rescue after reports stated the patient fell from an elevated walkway onto rocks and trees and into the water.

A158, A159, RS15, E152, SUP15, BT15, DIVE15, and Chief 15 responded immediately on the call with 24 volunteers. A159 arrived and made access to the patient by foot from the Coldstream side of the lake, while Boat 15 launched from Nightengale Beach to prepare for patient evacuation. Boat 15-1 (Dive Boat) launched as a safety boat and to support the rescue efforts. The patient was packaged and transported back to Nightengale Beach, where A158 transported them to the hospital. Chief 15 held the Lake Linganore Command.

Please be safe over the coming July 4th holiday and summer weekends. It only takes a small accident to ruin your good time.
