New Market Volunteers to Purchase a New Fire Engine

On Saturday December 21st the New Market District Volunteer Fire Department signed a contract with Antietam Fire Apparatus and Kovatch Mobile Equipment for a brand new 2014 KME Severe Service Engine. The apparatus committee has been hard at work for months to design and spec out a truck to meet the needs of the department. This was a huge undertaking and involved bids from four different vendors. The purchase will be the first fire engine bought by the department in 30 years. We expect to take delivery in the Fall of 2014. The features of the new engine are listed below:

- 1200' 4" Supply Line
- Front, Driver, and Officer Side Intakes
- TFT Crossfire Deck Gun
- 200' Electric Cord Reel
- Powercall DX5200 Siren
- 12 Volt LED Scene Lighting
- Whelen LED Warning Light Package
- Custom Equipment Mounting at Factory
